Leaders of Tomorrow

Leaders of Tomorrow is a program designed to promote service learning, mentoring, and community service for students in grades 3-5 students. Leaders of Tomorrow is a group of students interested in helping out around the school, the community, and modeling positive behaviors for younger students.

What do student leaders do?

  • Learn ways to be a good leader (called leadership skills)
  • Help school staff members with projects
  • Help students by being a bus “buddy”, a tutor, a peer helper, or a special recess friend
  • Help organize special events such as Red Ribbon Week, Boo Carnival, or SOL Kick-Off
  • Help with school-wide projects such as clean-up day, bake sales, or food drives
  • Greet visitors and new students to the school and give them a tour

What is the time commitment?

If you sign up to be a member agree to:

  • Attend 3 sessions of leadership training (called Leadership Academy) taught by Mrs. Kosmowski. This training would be held after school - there will be a late bus.
  • Depending on how many students sign up, you would be a student leader for at least half of the school year.
  • You may be asked to come to school early, work with a peer during lunch/recess, or stay after school.
    • If you are asked to come to school early or stay following the late bus, we will provide plenty of advanced notice to arrange transportation.
