I hope everyone had a good weekend!

This week in reading, we will be reviewing the author's purpose using the forms of purpose: persuade, inform, entertain.  In grammar, we will be learning about other types of pronouns like them, their, his, her. The new sight words for this week are in your child’s folder.   Please cut apart and add to previous week’s cards. Since we have a field trip and the fundations unit is only 1 week, we will not have any homework this week.

In Math, we will continue with our unit on Fractions.  We will be working the fractions ⅙, ⅛, and 1/10. We will also be making different parts of those fractions (i.e. ⅜, 4/10 etc).

In Social Studies, we will focus on the history of the United States through transportation.  We will look at how transportation has changed over the years and where it might lead in the future!

In Fundations, we will continue with the double syllable this week.  We will be working with the vowel teams oi and oy with the /oy/ sounds. They are scooped with a letter D under it.  We will also be combining this vowel with other syllables too. This is a short unit so the unit test is this Friday.

Our field trip to Colonial Williamsburg is tomorrow.  Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes as we will be doing a lot of walking.  Chaperones please be here as close to 8:15 as possible as we have to leave by 8:35 a.m. in order to arrive on time for our tour.  Please remember bagged lunches with names and no glass bottles.

Due to the field trip, we will not be having afternoon academy tomorrow.  We will look at the end of 9 week datas and send notes after spring break for any kids who will need to continue to stay.

The Book Fair is here! If you would like your child to shop at the book fair, please send    in money on their designated Library day. Students will have an opportunity to shop during their Library resource time.

We will be doing an egg hunt on the afternoon of April 2nd.  Each student is asked to bring in 12 pre-filled eggs with things like erasers, coins, stickers, stamps, etc.  If you wouldn’t mind contributing, please send them in by Friday, March 27th.

Spring picture day is coming Tuesday, March 24!!! Please use the following link to prepay for your child's pictures. mylifetouch.com Our picture day code is RV029204Q0
