Our division participates in several federally funded programs designed to support student achievement, professional development, and well rounded education. These programs provide vital resources that help ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of background.

The 2025/2026 Schoolwide Plan and the 2025/2026 Parent Involvement Policy are open for community feedback until September 26, 2025.

Federal Programs

Title I

Schools are selected as eligible to receive Title I funds based on the economic needs of the student population. West Point Elementary offers a schoolwide program for Title l services. Title I provides funding to support students in meeting state academic standards, especially in schools with high percentages of children from low income families. These funds help with reading and math support, tutoring programs, and additional instructional support.

The Title I program for West Point Public Schools provides students in grades K-5 with additional instructional support in reading and math. Our Title I staff offers a comprehensive program of services for children and families as students develop into fluent readers and mathematicians. Elementary students who are below grade level expectations in reading and math can receive assistance through Title I programming. Specialized support addressing identified needs is provided during the school day. The parents are notified when a child is enrolled or discharged from the program.
